Snocraft Snowshoe Sled

Once upon a time…..little Norway, Maine was the snowshoe capital of America. The fabrication started with a couple of guys in a garage (no, it wasn’t the two Steves, Jobs and Wazniak) and grew to a multi-company industry that spread across the country though the center always remained in New England. Like many things, the Native Americans taught the settlers the advantages of snow shoes.

This folding sled was meant to be carried on the back for transport. Simply unfold it and off you go with a Christmas tree from deep in the woods or some freshly killed game.

This sled is in remarkable condition. And rare . Has what I believe is the original spliced hemp rope, but I’ve never seen another of these sleds so its just my analysis. Also believe the rawhide has been added for added strength, and doubt its original.
