A pioneer of Japanese industrial design, Sori Yanagi (b. 1912) is perhaps most famous for the iconic Butterfly Stool designed in 1954. Through the decades Yanagi's work has remained faithfully simple and unpretentious, with gentle and rounded forms because they "radiate human warmth".

Designed by Yanagi in 1994, this water kettle is made in Niigata, Japan which is famous for its craftsmanship of quality, stainless steel products. No fewer than 15 different factories are involved in the production of each kettle as most of the parts are made by hand. The design features a wide opening for easy filling and cleaning. The broad, flat bottom conducts heat evenly and brings water rapidly to a boil.

Winner of Japan's Good Design Award for exceptional design and functionality. Crafted of 18/8 brushed stainless steel by Sato-Shoji. Holds 48 oz. Suitable for all stovetops. Dishwasher safe.
