Old world craftsmanship shines in the quality of the Handsome Dan Football.
Named for Yale University’s bulldog mascot, Handsome Dan, every football is handmade in a 15 step process, using rich, supple hides from a tannery in Maine and finished with rawhide stitching.  The size is somewhat smaller than the professional model to enhance the grip, making it easier to hold and throw.  Each football is unique, and will age beautifully with use.

The Handsome Dan has been made to the highest standards of American craftsmanship by Paul Cunningham, a native son of Cooperstown, NY.  Cunningham has served as a researcher for the National Baseball Hall of Fame, was the long time Photo Editor for Major League Baseball in Manhattan, and made ball gloves for elite players as a Sr. Baseball Glove Craftsman.  He was also selected to make basketballs that were presented to every member of the U.S. Men’s Basketball team who won a Gold Medal at the London Olympics.
