Tadahiro Baba (b. 1930) established his first design studio in 1957, was Chief Director of Japan's Craft Design Association from 1985-1989, and became one of Japan's most outspoken advocates of handcrafted objects vs. machine made designs.
Baba's charming bird bottle openers - one of his earlier designs - stand as mini sculptures when not in use. Each is crafted of cast iron in Iwate, and are finished with a urushi lacquer glaze that prevents rust.
Available in two styles. Sold individually gift boxed.
